Philippe Croizon is launching an application called “VIP” for “Very Important Parking” which allows you to geolocate parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility (PRM). Europe 1 boarded the creator’s vehicle to test the application.

“VIP” for Very Important Parking. This application was created by Philippe Croizon to make life easier for people with reduced mobility. It lists all available parking spaces as well as restaurants, stores, pharmacies accessible with a ramp and wide enough for wheelchairs. Europe 1 boarded the creator’s vehicle to test the application.

2% of places reserved for PRMs

The application works like a classic navigation assistance application. Available on Android, Play Store and Apple Store from this Monday, “VIP” guides all its users to places reserved for people with reduced mobility. “Before the application, when I arrived in a city with my vehicle, I struggled, I went in circles and I wasted gasoline. And you know that there are only 2% of parking spaces [réservées aux PMR] throughout France, it was very complicated,” he says.

The application also allows you to find places accessible to people with reduced mobility. “The nearest restaurant, the tobacconist, the pharmacy… And we can clearly see [quand on arrive] that the sidewalk is completely flat and that it is quite wide,” he describes. In France, 500,000 people have parking mobility cards and 12 million people have a disability.
