Netflix put online this Thursday, November 30, the last two episodes of season 5 of “Virgin River”, which finally allow us to lift the veil on the identity of Mel’s father.

On September 7, Netflix released the first 10 episodes of season 5 of Virgin River online, which was rich in emotions for Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson). The two lovebirds had indeed had to face a terrible ordeal which disrupted their future plans.
And in the final minutes of episode 10, Mel was shocked to learn that her mother had sent love letters to a man living in Virgin River. Exchanges which suggested that she had had an affair with him thirty years earlier, and that he could be the nurse’s father.
It is therefore in the second part of season 5, which was put online this Thursday, November 30 on Netflix, that we finally learn the name of this mystery man.
Who is Mel’s father?
When the first burst of episodes was released, AlloCiné made assumptions about the identity of Mel’s father. Three residents of Virgin River seemed to have the profile: Doc (Tim Matheson), who maintains an almost paternal relationship with the young woman, Nick Montgomery (Keith MacKechnie), Jo Ellen’s husband, and finally Buck, Lily’s late husband.
But it seems that the writers like to play on our nerves since none of these three characters is Mel’s father.
During the two Christmas episodes, Mel and Jack will set out in search of this mystery man. And over the course of their investigation, which will take them to the four corners of Virgin River, they will succeed in tracing the trail of a certain Everett Reid, a character that we had never met before, played for the occasion by John Allen Nelson.
The actor’s face may not be unfamiliar to you since he was one of the stars of the soap Santa Barbara.
If at first he denies being the nurse’s progenitor, he changes his mind in the last minutes of season 5, and comes to visit Mel in her chalet. It is with this moving reunion that this new chapter ends.
Season 6 of Virgin River, which has already been ordered by Netflix, should therefore revolve around the emerging relationship between the father and his daughter, and should also allow us to learn more about this character.
