With her pregnancy, Charmaine caused chaos in the fourth season of “Virgin River” because Jack was believed to be the father for a long time. But that’s not true, as season 5 now reveals.

- So we now know who the father of Charmaine’s twins is.
- It’s not Jack, as suspected in season 4, but someone we never thought possible.
Season 4 of “Virgin River” had a lot of drama in store for Jack and Mel: Jack’s on-off relationship Charmaine was pregnant and Jack was the potential father. But season 5 now brings more clarity to the matter and reveals who the twins’ real father is.
After Charmaine admitted at the end of season 4 that Jack was not the father of her sons, the big question was who the baby daddy was. The book by author Robyn Carr doesn’t tell us anything about this, because pregnancy is purely a series invention by Netflix.
So we had no choice but to wait until season 5 and it didn’t disappoint. After going through every imaginable man from the sleepy town of Virgin River, the series revealed that the most unthinkable man is the real father of Charmaine’s twins: Calvin.
Baby daddy Calvin
The cannabis dealer suddenly reappears in Virgin River and immediately sought out Charmaine in the finale of the first half of season 5. In Season 4, Calvin was declared dead while on a boat that was blown up. As the gangster reveals in his conversation with Charmaine, he played dead to escape Melissa Montgomery’s murder attempt.
When Charmaine then asks Calvin what he wants to do in Virgin River again, he simply answers: “I want to be a father to my babies.” This clears up the mystery surrounding the paternity of Charmaine’s twins. But how did the two find each other? And what does Calvin really want from the expectant mother? It is very doubtful that he only visits her to be there for his children.
We may get answers to these questions in the upcoming second half of season 5 of “Virgin River”. The missing episodes will appear on November 30, 2023 and will take place at Christmas time. Maybe the twins will already be born and we will learn more about Calvin’s dark game.
