It’s the end of the year and therefore the opportunity to look ahead to what awaits us in 2024. On the Apple side, important symbolic changes could well take place.

Will 2024 be the year Apple finally moves on? While the iPhone remains the undeniable star of the brand (generating more than half of the company’s revenue), the coming year could well shine the spotlight on other product categories and allow the company to ‘finally diversify its sources of income a little. In any case, this is what the always very well informed Mark Gurman, journalist at Bloomberg, seems to believe.

According to the English-speaking media, after unparalleled domination of the iPhone over the last 15 years, “the coming year will focus on… everything else», starting, of course, with the Vision Pro.

The Vision Pro, star of 2024

Apple’s mixed reality headset is indeed one of the brand’s most anticipated products… and one of the few that can, a priori, overshadow the iPhone. As a reminder, the Vision Pro is an accessory to wear directly on the face which promises to immerse you in an augmented world where you can consult your messages with a nod of the head, watch a film as if you were at the cinema and make calls via video without the need for a computer or telephone.

Despite an expected price of around 3,500 dollars (approximately 3,200 euros), Apple is betting big on this new generation computer. The company even went so far as to train employees in Apple Stores to sell the product and its features as best as possible, and only authorized physical sales to prevent a user from becoming frustrated with the potential. unused machine.

According to Mark Gurman, however, expectations are moderate, even within the company. Employees compare the headset to the Apple Watch, noting that “The first three generations of this product weren’t very good, but when the fourth model arrived, the hardware was up to par and sales started to climb.» It still seems that Apple expects the Vision Pro to represent “a significant part» of its income within a few years.

The Apple Watch will become more health-savvy

Speaking of Apple Watch, the company could also give a big refresh to its connected watch. While the current model has not changed user habits, the next one seems to have great ambitions.

According to Bloomberg, the next Apple Watch could include sleep apnea and hypertension detection features. Enough to potentially convince new customers to invest in the accessory to be able to keep a close eye on their health.

AirPods, hearing aids 2.0

Still in the chapter of health, the next models of AirPods (the firm’s earphones and headsets) could well include features transforming them into hearing aids 2.0. Information on this feature is scant, but AirPods can already act as a hearing aid. It would therefore probably only be missing a few technical details (and the signature of the competent authorities) to officially make AirPods health accessories.

AirPods Max sporting new colors and a USB-C port could also be there in 2024. Let’s see if this galaxy of products and various features will manage to steal the spotlight from the iPhone, which in 2024 should only gain a few centimeters on its screen and minor technical improvements.
