(CercleFinance.com) – The Canal+ group, a subsidiary of Vivendi, announced on Thursday that it had increased its stake in the Asian streaming service Viu to 36.8%, in accordance with the agreement concluded with the Hong Kong-based PCCW last year. last.
In a press release, Canal+ reiterates that it considers the Asian market as one of its main growth vectors, thereby renewing its confidence in Viu and its management team.
Its stake was 30% last February.
The operation announced today is part of a phased investment of $300 million, at the end of which the Canal+ group will have an option in its hand to increase its stake in Viu to 51%.
