MILAN (Reuters) – Vivendi, the main shareholder of Telecom Italia (TIM), has filed a complaint with a Milan court to challenge the sale of the Italian operator’s landline network for 19 billion euros , three sources said Friday.

In its complaint, which benefits from an expedited procedure, Vivendi asks the court to overturn the decision of TIM’s board of directors to sell the network, two sources said.

The complaint does not seek an immediate suspension of the transaction, the sources said.

Vivendi had declared that it would not support the sale of TIM’s fixed telephone network if its fair value was not recognized.
