Vivendi plans to raise the takeover bid for Lagardère to 25.50 euros per share

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The media and publishing group Vivendi announced on Friday that it plans to raise the price of its takeover bid (OPA) for Lagardère shares to 25.50 euros.

Vivendi had indicated in December that it intended to file a takeover bid at 24.10 euros per share for Lagardère, the same amount as that at which the Amber Capital fund sold its shares.

“Vivendi plans to guarantee this price of 24.10 euros until December 15, 2023 and to increase, for those shareholders wishing to sell their shares immediately, the price of its tender offer to 25.50 euros per share, from which the 2021 dividend would be deducted,” the company said in a statement.

“Vivendi’s final decision on the terms of its public offer will be taken by its management board and made public on February 21, 2022, the date also envisaged for its filing,” the company continued.

After this announcement, the Lagardère share took 5.1%, to 25.36 euros, on the Paris Stock Exchange, approaching the price envisaged by Vivendi which for its part fell by 0.7%, to 11.44 euros. .
