(CercleFinance.com) – The Canal+ group, a subsidiary of Vivendi, announces that it has increased its stake in Viu to 30%, a leading streaming service present in Asia, the Middle East and South Africa, in accordance with the terms of the transaction announced on June 21, 2023.
This increase marks for the French media group a new step in its ambition to make Asia its next growth engine, through its strategic partnership with the PCCW group.
The operation announced today is part of a phased investment of $300 million, at the end of which the Canal+ group will have an option in its hand to increase its stake in Viu to 51%.
