Vladimir Putin: one of his relatives found in a bloodbath


On June 20, 2022, Vadim Zimin, the man in charge of carrying the nuclear suitcase on all of Vladimir Putin’s trips, was found in a bloodbath at his home.

He is now between life and death. According to information from the Ukrainian newspaper The Kyiv Post, Vadim Zimin, known for having transported the nuclear suitcase alongside Vladimir Putinwas found in a bloodbath at his home in Krasnogorsk, Russia. Victim of a bullet wound to the head, which he allegedly inflicted in his kitchen with an Izh 79-9TM pistol, the retired colonel of the Federal Security Service was rushed to hospital and would still be in intensive care.

According to the Russian daily Moskovsky Komsomolets, Vadim Zimin was under house arrest after being arrested in December 2021 in connection with a corruption case. The 53-year-old is suspected of accepting a bribe from a businessman but denies all charges against him. He would have tried to end his life while his wife, a doctor, helped injured Russian soldiers in Ukraine.

The man with the nuclear briefcase

Vadim Zimin joined the Federal Security Service in 1991 under President Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin’s predecessor. After rising through the ranks and earning the title of colonel, he was given the daunting task of carrying the nuclear briefcase, known in Russia as the “Cheget”, containing the codes necessary for the President of the Russian Federation to order a nuclear attack. His presence during Vladimir Putin’s travels represents a symbolic and constant threat against the West.
