Vladimir Putin promises that those responsible for the attack in Moscow will be “punished”

The day after the terrorist attack which left more than a hundred dead, Vladimir Putin spoke in a televised address on Saturday March 23. He assured that “all the authors, organizers and sponsors of this crime will be[aie]nt justly and inevitably punished.” The Russian president also said that the four perpetrators of the attack had been arrested while “attempted to flee and headed towards Ukraine”.

For its part, Ukraine claims to have no link with the terrorist attack that occurred on Friday March 22 in a concert hall located near Moscow. The attack was claimed by an Afghan branch of the Islamic State organization. Vladimir Putin declared a day of national mourning on Sunday March 24.
