The one considered to be an electric Passat will arrive on the roads in 2023 to compete (among others) with the Tesla Model 3.

A new zero-emission model directly inspired by the 2018 ID.Vizzion concept.

Volkswagen Aero B, expected launch in 2023

While the electric car market continues to see its prices explode (proof is with the Tesla Model 3 which has just reached a new historic level…), Volkswagen is preparing the official rival of the small zero-emission American. This model responds to the code name “Aero B” and is directly descended from the ID.Vizzion concept presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

The final name of this 100% electric sedan is not yet known, but it has already been seen in the middle of a driving session. Remember that it should be the very first model from Volkswagen to benefit from the optimizations of the group’s MEB platform, reserved for electric vehicles.

These developments should in particular allow this future Aero B to benefit from an optimization at the battery level, which would result in increased autonomy. It could thus climb to 700 kilometers. Fast charging would also be faster than ever, with the possibility of going up to 200 kW (against 150 kW today).

Appearance inspired by the Passat

On the look side, this future electric car signed Volkswagen should take up the much appreciated style of the Passat, with, as for the thermal version, the possibility of opting for a coupe or station wagon model. Obviously, in its production version, the one we call today Aero B should opt for an appellation of the type “ID. “, like the whole of the new electric range of the manufacturer.

It now remains to wait a few more months to find out everything about this electric sedan signed Volkswagen, and in particular its final name. We know for now that it will be developed on the side of Emden, in Germany.
