The ID. Buzz is coming! While waiting for its official announcement, the 100% electric Combi is very followed by the specialized press: here are stolen photos of the interior and information on its price.
It will be announced in March, this is no longer a surprise. We have to go back to 2017 to find the beginnings of the ID.Buzz project, which will delight not only the most nostalgic among us, but also fans of electric motors. Because this van is quite simply a trendy version of the famous Volkswagen Combi, also known as the Volkswagen Type 2. Volkswagen has already announced a date: “The legend is back on March 9, 2022”.
Interior pictures
While waiting for its announcement, if you are lucky, you could come across the colorful Combi. It’s a way to hide his design… but that didn’t stop the media VW ID Talk to come across pictures of the interior.
As you can see, this new Combi looks like the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5. The dashboard and all the design elements are similar to the ID family that we know so far.
A starting price of 60,000 euros
Volkswagen should launch its ID. Buzz in September 2022 at an entry-level price of just under 60,000 euros, according to German media Automobilwoche. Orders would be possible from May.
Initially, the ID. Buzz will only be available as a 204 hp rear-wheel drive with a 77 kWh battery – and only in the 4.70 meter long version with five seats. With 4.70 meters, the ID. Buzz will therefore have a length similar to electric SUVs based on the current platform. An all-wheel drive would arrive later, with a second electric motor at the front, like what you can see on SUVs. In 2023, a version stretched by almost 30 centimeters with space for a third row of seats should be marketed.
