(Boursier.com) — ESB, a semi-state utility company, and Bord na Móna, a semi-state climate solutions company, two of Ireland’s leading energy suppliers, have chosen Voltalia for their new solar power plant in Timahoe North, County Kildare. This will be their joint venture’s first large-scale solar project. The latter aims, in the long term, to set up solar power plants with a total capacity of 500 megawatts on the land of Bord na Móna.

Voltalia was entrusted with the execution of the engineering, supply and construction contract for the solar park. This plant should be fully operational by the end of 2024, with an installed capacity of 108 megawatts.
