(Boursier.com) — Voltalia sells a wind farm to the Japanese conglomerate Toda. Discussions are underway to provide construction and operation-maintenance services.

This is the continuation of a fruitful partnership, after a 28 megawatt wind project developed and built by Voltalia for Toda, 3 years ago.

The 90 megawatt project, called Casqueira, is located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. It will include 15 wind turbines supplied by Nordex Acciona. The project will benefit from interconnection infrastructures already developed and built by Voltalia.

The Casqueira wind farm will be part of the Serra Branca cluster, the largest wind and solar cluster in the world, initiated and developed by Voltalia. Currently, the Serra Branca cluster includes a 2.4 gigawatt, 500 kVA grid connection and a total of 1.8 gigawatt of operating wind and solar power plants, of which 1 gigawatt is owned or majority owned by Voltalia and 0.8 gigawatt was sold by Voltalia to partners.

Construction is expected to begin in the first half of 2024 and be completed in the first quarter of 2025.

Recall that Toda currently has a 28 megawatt wind farm in the Serra Branca complex. Currently in operation, this project was developed and built by Voltalia in 2020, which provides operation and maintenance services.

“We are very proud to once again support our long-standing partner, Toda. Our teams are fully mobilized to make this new cooperation a new common success,” declares Sébastien Clerc, Managing Director of Voltalia.
