Volunteers before – The “Krone” is looking for the heart person again!

The whole country says “thank you”. We are looking for volunteers who have excelled – they will receive the “Krone” award.

Corona, war in Europe and inflation have shown it relentlessly: problems can only be solved if we stick together. In Lower Austria this is living reality: 650,000 people are actively organized in clubs, 300,000 do their best in informal areas such as neighborhood help around the clock. The “Kronen Zeitung”, in cooperation with “Servicevolunteer”, therefore wants to once again ask those in front of the curtain who often do their (charitable) voluntary work in secret without being thanked – the patrons are again governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and “Krone” publisher Dr. Christoph Dichand about. Last year, the “Krone” started the “Krone Herzensmensch” campaign together with the “Servicevolunteer” platform to put clubs, people and communities in the spotlight that do so much good for their village community, their relatives or for the needy Countless submissions in the past year have shown what a wide range of voluntary work there is in Lower Austria, and the “Krone-Herzensmenschen 21” have deeply touched and fascinated us with their personal stories and experiences. On November 14, 2021, the first “Krone-Herzensmensch” trophies were awarded – due to the corona pandemic on a small scale. A summer festival in Zellerndorf Zellerndorf in the Weinviertel was awarded as the most club-friendly community. The date for the main prize, a celebration with the “crown”, has now been set: On July 30, Francine Jordi and Die Wilden Kaiser will be performing on the stage directly on the sports field. Meadow fun with music “from the can” is also offered. It starts at 5.30 p.m. While the preparatory work is going on there, “Servicevolunteers” and the “Krone” are now looking for prize winners again. For example, which people have made a particularly valuable contribution to helping neighbors? Which clubs have made a special contribution to their work, for example do more youth work or outstanding social help? And of course we are looking for the most club-friendly municipality again, which is where it gets interesting for mayors. You can read more information about the “Krone-Herzensmensch” campaign in the information box. The jury is looking forward to many interesting submissions. How to get involved: The most emotional, most environmentally friendly, most sustainable and most social clubs can now be submitted. Please provide a brief explanation and the contact details of the association. At the same time, we are looking for individuals who have made outstanding contributions in all areas of neighborhood assistance. If your community is particularly club-friendly, you can also nominate the place in a separate category. All in all, attractive and individual non-cash prizes with a total value of 50,000 euros will be awarded. Submissions from now on by post to: Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich, “Krone Herzensmensch”, Neue Herrengasse 10, 3100 St. Pölten or via the Internet to: krone.at/herzensmensch (more information and the conditions of participation can also be found here). The closing date for entries is August 12th.
