Back to the proven facts: the tragedy occurred on Sunday August 27, 2023 just before 6 a.m. in the town of Charmes, located about thirty kilometers from Épinal. Near a nightclub located in the Vosges department, a motor vehicle struck many pedestrians. According to information collected and published by the local radio France Blue Lorrainethe same day, an 18-year-old died of his injuries. Five other pedestrians were seriously injured. The perpetrators of this tragedy first fled before being found and arrested by the gendarmerie.
