(Boursier.com) — Waga Energyspecialist in the production of biomethane on waste storage sites, signed a contract with the American company Decatur Hills Landfill, attached to the family waste treatment and recovery group Best Way Disposal, to produce biomethane in Greensburg ( Indiana, United States).

As part of this agreement, Waga Energy will finance the construction of a production unit using its patented “WAGABOX” technology to recover the gas emitted by buried waste in the form of biomethane. Waga Energy will operate the unit for at least 20 years, and will support Decatur Hills Landfill to optimize methane capture and energy production at the site.

The WAGABOX unit, scheduled to be commissioned in 2025, will be able to process up to 1,600 cubic meters/h of raw gas and produce 55 GWh of biomethane per year. Its production will be injected directly into the local gas network, thanks to a 3 kilometer connection financed by Waga Energy as part of this project.

Waga Energy recalls that 19 WAGABOX units are in operation in France, Canada and Spain. Sixteen other units are under construction in the United States, France and Canada. The Decatur Hills Landfill project is the seventh undertaken by Waga Energy in the United States.
