Three base jumpers flew by helicopter from Walenstadt towards Churfirsten, the St. Gallen canton police announced on Thursday. There they all jumped out of the helicopter together. When the helicopter arrived at the landing site, only two of the three base jumpers could be encountered.
The helicopter immediately went on a search flight for the 33-year-old German. This was sighted crashing between Zuestoll and Tschingla. The doctor from Rega was only able to determine the death of the athlete who lived in Germany. Specialists from the alpine task force of the St. Gallen canton police moved out on site.
The exact course of the accident is currently still being investigated.
