The New York Stock Exchange closed narrowly in the green on Wednesday, in a sparse market after the holidays, with the broader S&P 500 index getting a little closer to a new all-time high.
The Dow Jones index gained 0.30%, the Nasdaq, with its strong technological coloring, advanced 0.16% and the S&P 500 nibbled 0.14%, according to provisional results.
