Walmart: acquisition of stake in Sustainable Beef

(CercleFinance.com) – Walmart announced on Wednesday that it would take a minority stake in Sustainable Beef, a new player in beef processing in the United States.

The American retail giant explains that this investment will help this company open its first beef packaging site in North Platte (Nebraska).

This establishment, which should enter into service by the end of 2024, provides for the slaughter of 1,500 head of cattle per day for a workforce of 800 people on the basis of a ‘cooperative’ hybrid model.

In its press release, Walmart explains that the operation is part of its strategy to ensure its supply of premium Angus beef.
