Need to free up your SIM slot without changing your plan? Here is a new option that allows you to convert your SIM card to eSIM in just a few taps.
Do you know eSIM? It’s like having a SIM card but without the card. It’s a small circuit built right into your phone. No more searching for that little paper clip to change your SIM when you change operator or when you travel.
Orange and Sosh have just simplified the lives of their customers with a new option to switch from the old SIM card to this eSIM, directly from the iPhone settings. Before, you had to juggle between different applications and menus, but now, a few taps in the “ Cellular data » are enough.
In a few taps
As iGen explains, it’s simple, but it’s not free. Imagine you want to upgrade to eSIM. All you have to do is go to the settings of your iPhone, select your current SIM and opt for the option “ Convert to eSIM “. This path will redirect you to the Orange portal where you will have to identify yourself and pay the conversion fee of 10 euros. Although this process is not fully integrated into the iPhone, it still represents an effective shortcut that eases your transition to eSIM. This frees up the physical SIM port to put another SIM in it.
To take advantage of this function, you must have a recent iPhone (from XS) and have updated your operating system (iOS 17.2). This update includes the function eSIM Quick Transferdesigned precisely to facilitate the switch from the physical SIM to the eSIM.
