  • The former German terrorist of the Red Army Faction (RAF), Daniela Klette (65), was caught in Berlin.
  • The German Press Agency learned this from security circles. “Bild” newspaper and “BZ” had previously reported.
  • The Verden public prosecutor’s office and the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office searched for decades for the so-called RAF pensioners Burkhard Garweg (55), Ernst-Volker Staub (69) and Daniela Marie Luise Klette (65).

Klette offered no resistance, the public prosecutor said. The authorities accuse Staub, Klette and Garweg of attempted murder and a series of serious robberies between 1999 and 2016. The crime scenes were therefore in the federal states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. The public prosecutor’s office assumes that the attacks were not politically motivated.

Legend:

Daniela Klette and two other suspected RAF terrorists were searched for on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY…”.

The accused are said to have committed the crimes in order to get money. Most recently, on February 14th, the Verden public prosecutor’s office requested information about former terrorists of the Red Army Faction (RAF) in the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY… unsolved”.

Third RAF generation

Dust, burdock and Garweg are assigned to the so-called third RAF generation. Representatives of the generation are said to have killed the then head of Deutsche Bank, Alfred Herrhausen, and the head of the Treuhand, Detlev Karsten Rohwedder. Rohwedder was shot dead at his desk in his home in Düsseldorf on April 1, 1991. The RAF commando targeted him from an allotment location and more than 60 meters away. It was the last RAF assassination attempt.
