Ebadullah A. was allowed to sleep on the floor of an acquaintance’s apartment in Vienna-Brigittenau for several weeks. “He just waited with me until the day he left,” says his roommate. As the “Krone” learned, A. already had a plane ticket. But shortly before departure he visited the brothel – with a disastrous outcome.
A few weeks ago, A. lived in a sparsely furnished, yet freshly renovated and light-flooded apartment in Brigittenau. At Aller Heiligenplatz, just a few minutes’ walk from the crime scene. According to “Krone” information, he is said to have slept on the floor there. A good temporary solution, because according to the interrogation protocol, he should have gone back to Kabul on March 1st. His lawyer also confirmed this. The victim’s head was almost severed. But instead of waiting a few more days for his departure, the Afghan decided to enter the brothel on Engerthstrasse armed with a knife on February 23rd at 8:55 p.m. and take the lives of three Asian women there. The forensic medicine counted almost 100 stitches among the female victims. Sometimes with such force that two women’s heads were almost severed. Before the horror act, the refugee – who has been in Austria since the beginning of 2022 – even went to a mosque to pray. Ebadullah A. would have a “broken soul” For his lawyer, A. is “a broken soul, a pitiful sick person”. The length of the 27-year-old’s imprisonment is still being decided. A commissioned psychological report is also still pending. It is completely clear what drove the Afghan to the terrible massacre on that horror night will probably never be understandable for an ordinary mortal. Nevertheless, it must be clarified what motivated the suspect evening to commit the crime. During the interview, the Afghan stated that an inner voice had told him to go ahead and take revenge: “Prostitutes are under the guise of Satan. I read in the Koran that I should do jihad!”
