A report on the construction of a major aqueduct supposed to connect the People’s Republic of Donetsk (DNR), in eastern Ukraine, to the Russian region of Rostov was also presented to Sergei Shoigu, according to the same source.

This visit comes as fierce fighting continues for control of Bakhmout, in the Donetsk region, a locality of limited strategic value but which has become a symbol because the two sides have been clashing there for months. At the end of December, Sergei Shoigu had made two such visits to the “special operation” in Ukraine.
