Warcraft Arclight Rumble: the new mobile game from Blizzard

Blizzard unveils a mobile video game from the Warcraft universe: Arclight Rumble

Blizzard is increasing its presence on mobile. After Hearthstone then the announcement four years ago of its very first smartphone game with Diablo Immortalwhose release is scheduled for June 2, the American studio has just presented its second title on May 3: Warcraft Arclight Rumble. The title, whose availability date has not been specified, will be available on Android and iOS.

from the universe Warcraft, Arclight Rumble seems to be inspired by the recipes that have made the success of titles like Clash Royale. The title unveiled by Blizzard indeed assumes a cartoonish and wacky artistic direction, with characters of sometimes improbable proportions (Super Deformed), and with very bright colors and crazy animations.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble: a mobile game a la Clash Royale

Warcraft Arclight Rumble is described as a game combining action and strategy. It is more precisely a game that hybridizes the functionalities of a “tower defense” and a battle arena (MOBA). You have to both defend yourself against waves of opponents while sending your own troops against the enemy, taking sometimes varied paths.

The game intends to offer a single-player experience, with PvE content, that is, a scripted story where you face the challenges concocted by Blizzard, as well as PvP challenges, where you can compete with players and players in parts online. The campaign is described as “ambitious” by Blizzard, and the PvP is promised as “epic”.

In addition to the battles themselves, Warcraft Arclight Rumble must also appeal to those who like to collect all kinds of things. In this title, it is a question of amassing dozens of virtual figurines, which we can no doubt then use during conflicts. These figurines will also be able to level up, to be stronger and stronger.

Several game modes are promised (conquest, dungeon, raid, co-op and PvP) and five families of units are announced: the Alliance, the Horde, the Undead, the Blackrock clan (of Orcs) and the Beasts – each with its specificities. Others could be added in the future in favor of future extensions, and if the title meets with success.

New maps to compete against and, why not, new game modes could also arrive in the future. The game will also offer a resource collection system – in this case, gold, available through veins or chests – to finance the production of units and the use of offensive or defensive spells.

Warcraft oblige, emblematic characters will be there, like Jaina Proudmoore, General Drakkisath, Grommash Hellscream, Baron Rivendare and others. We should also come across famous places and new places. The game should not have a direct connection with Dragonflightthe new extension of World of Warcraftif not the shared universe.

Blizzard has opened pre-registration. Let’s bet that the studio will be more lively to go out Warcraft Arclight Rumblecompared to Diablo Immortal (more than four years!). Given the visuals presented and the apparent state of development, as well as the relative simplicity of a title at the Clash Royale compared to a hack ‘n’ slash, there is hope.
