In addition to the launch trailer, the developers give a huge recap of what’s on offer Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin :

Realms of Ruin is a game of intense, tactical battles set in Ghur, one of the eight mortal realms in Warhammer Age of Sigmar. This thrilling RTS game is playable with a keyboard and mouse or a controller via DirectStep, an innovative interface that gives console gamers the flexibility and responsiveness of traditional RTS controls. PC gamers can enjoy an experience optimized for keyboard and mouse, in the classic vein of the genre.

The single-player campaign begins with a detachment of Storm Eternals tasked with retrieving a powerful artifact from the inhospitable swamplands of Ghur. They aim to save their fortress, Harkanibus, from a relentless siege by the brutal Orruk Kruleboyz faction, which dwells in the swamplands. However, this mysterious power has a dark history, and through the differing perspectives of all those connected to the artifact, commanders will discover two other factions: the Followers of Tzeentch, the masters of manipulation and twisters of fate, as well as the spectral cloud of the Haunted Ones. A story full of twists and turns awaits fans of the first hour of RTS, enthusiasts of Age of Sigmar, and those curious about this genre.

Each faction is distinct from the others. Powerful Storm Eternals bring versatility to any terrain thanks to versatile squads on the battlefield and Heroes who multiply vital buffs and who launch crowd controls on enemies. The mischievous Orruk Kruleboyz have cheap units, have strong defensive squads and send aggressive monsters into the fray. Haunted thrive on swarms of units, high mobility, and can resurrect units to continue the battle. Finally, the masters of manipulation known as the Disciples of Tzeentch are deadly from a distance, use powerful spells to dominate battle, and summon the fearsome Duke of Change to master the endgame. Understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and interactions is an essential part of the journey players will take in Realms of Ruin.

In 1v1 and 2v2 cross-platform multiplayer, players can battle against online players or AIs, and climb the 1v1 competitive leaderboard. Each battle sees players fight for Victory Points and Arcane Conduit resource points in a variety of maps, building defensive and offensive structures to protect themselves and advancing through a skill tree to unlock new unit abilities . By upgrading their command post, players will gain access to more powerful units, heroes and monsters, and higher population numbers, resulting in epic end-game battles with clashing weapons, projectiles magic, and imposing demons.

For players looking for more single-player action beyond the campaign, Conquest Mode is for them. They can select a faction and take part in numerous solo battles against the AI on a map that has been uniquely generated. In-game changes bring unexpected things like increased movement speed, increased damage, and increased Arcane Conduit capture speed. LThe goal is to have the highest score possible by choosing between multipliers and extra lives, while heading towards the final battle of each map. Each run is generated independently and can be shared easily.
