Activision has filed a lawsuit against one of Call of Duty: Warzone’s most well-known cheat software vendors.
It has been very long months that Warzone has been invaded by cheaters even if the developers of the battle royale have made many efforts to remedy this, in particular with the addition of a new anti-cheat system RICOCHET which received a welcome rather mixed in recent weeks. Now, Activision is attacking EngineOwning, a cheat provider, with a court case.
The lawsuit, which was filed by lawyers for Activision in the state of California in the United States, claims that EngineOwning caused damage to the company’s intellectual property by using illegal cheat systems in their games.
The RICOCHET anti-cheat should finally solve the problem of cheaters on Warzone.
EngineOwning is one of the biggest cheat providers on Call of Duty right now after continuing to bypass Activision’s efforts with the anti-cheat system. The trial was filed in court on Tuesday, January 4. EngineOwning has been asked to stop the company’s intellectual property cheat systems from paying maximum fines for each violation of the law.
Activision lawyers also said: “By creating, marketing, selling, maintaining and distributing the cheat software, they have engaged in numerous acts which are illegal under the laws of the United States and California.”
At this time, we don’t really know what EngineOwning’s plans are following this lawsuit. It has also been revealed that the company is managed by an individual in Germany.
