Warzone: An Activision employee teases the return of Verdansk

According to an Activision employee, Verdansk is set to make a comeback in 2023, after the release of Warzone 2.0.

Since Warzone Pacific kicked off last December, Caldera has taken the place of Verdansk, becoming the main battle royale map. Since then, players can’t wait for Verdansk to come back.

Indeed players have never forgotten this emblematic map where they cut their teeth, and while Caldera is struggling to convince, everyone wants a step back. Luckily, there seems to be a plan to reintroduce Verdansk into Warzone. Where the shoe pinches is that it would not be before 2023.

Verdansk has been missing for several months, but good news is on the horizon.

Verdansk should soon return to Warzone

This change should come sometime after the release of the next installment of the main franchise and Warzone 2.0, in 2023. As bad news never comes alone, there is a good chance that it will only be a time-limited appearance.

As if that weren’t enough, while discussing the future of the game during a livestream, Activision employee Alex Summers said that Verdansk would only appear on “some platforms”which could tie in with the release of Warzone Mobile.

However, all hope is not lost, if the card is indeed destined to return to mobile, it will potentially make a stopover on other platforms afterwards. What’s more, he also mentioned that Warzone version 2.0 will feature a “new big menu” at its output. So players will at least potentially be able to get away from Caldera a bit in the coming months.

Of course, as always, until Activision officially confirms the news, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially since in the coming months, the studio may change its tune several times.
