King Kong and Godzilla invaded Caldera in Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific’s Operation Monarch event which was not a big hit.
It’s easy to say that Operation Monarch hasn’t been well received by the Warzone community. Overall, the crossover with King Kong and Godzilla was rather disappointing from a player perspective, mostly due to the lack of interaction between the two titans.
However, this event will only be available for a few weeks of Warzone Pacific Season 3 so players will be able to get back to their usual routine in a very short time, whether on Caldera or Rebirth Island.
Players can regain health and armor plates by shooting Kong or Godzilla.
In the opinion of Warzone expert JGOD, he feels that such a disappointment in an event could force players away from the game, little by little.
Recently, the content creator discussed this Operation Monarch which was a “flop” according to him. He started by comparing how Warzone tried to copy live events from Fortnite. He continued on how Raven Software missed the opportunity to attract new players or bring back those who have already left: “There aren’t many reasons to come back or try the game for the first time”.
There’s a lot to do to stay up to date on Warzone as the meta is constantly evolving. If you’re a new player who hasn’t mounted your weapons, what should you do? Just come back and have bad weapons?
JGOD then continued on its comparison with Fortnite which has a good recipe: “That’s what Fortnite does… They have good events where you don’t have to be good at the game or you don’t even have to care about it, but you’ll log in and watch the event because you know you can”.
In short, the developers of Warzone still have a lot of work to do if they ever want to match Epic Games and its legendary events in Fortnite.
