Wayfinder: The next Airship Syndicate will debut in May

Wayfinder, it is the association between Airship Syndicate (Battle Chasers Nightwar, Darksiders Genesis, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story) and Digital Extremes, the studio that has been rolling in gold for 8 years thanks to Warframe and which shares here its expertise in online games, free-to-play and service games as a publisher with Joe Madureira’s studio. No more working on other people’s licenses, with WayfinderAirship Syndicate finally takes off with its own wings by unveiling its own world, Evenor.

It is more exactly a shared online world, threatened by the Gloom, a destructive force against which the Wayfinders stand, embodied by characters like the powerful gladiator Senja, who brings down her heavy sword on her prey, Silo, agile tactician and firearms adept, or Kyros, a war mage coupled with a brilliant scientist. Class archetypes whose skills will therefore have to come together to form effective and complementary teams.

The big leap into the void of the Airship Syndicate studio

Starting point for this free-to-play, Lumeciel acts as a social space in which each player will have his private quarters and will be able to craft new equipment with the materials collected during the adventure, before teaming up with up to three other Wayfinders. “Once out of Skylight, you’ll quickly see public events and world bosses to take down. The highlands are a vast open space filled with other Wayfinders. You’ll meet new friends by completing quests, battling world bosses, or gleaning resources“, can we read on the PlayStation Blog.

In fact, Early Access Season 1 will begin in May 2023 and will come with a paid Founder’s Pack, a way to get started with bonus content while allowing developers to earn revenue right away. Beginning with the May kick-off, each season will last approximately three months and will come with new features. It could just as well be characters, weapons or even destinations. The next beta test will begin on February 28, 2023 for PS5 and PC players with cross-play support. The opportunity to see if the game has a little more potato than it shows for the moment on video.
