GPS app Wazeowned by Google, now offers voice guidance in ch’ti as well as with accents from the south of France.

While several new voices have appeared, it is the ch’ti version that seems to be the most popular, given the many requests made by users.

Rintre dins you carette biloute

Because why not? If it’s possible, then let’s do it. After a Twitter poll offered by the official Waze France account in December 2021, the development team behind the GPS for smartphones kept their word: the ch’ti is available to guide you on the road.

The inhabitants of the Nord, Pas-de-Calais and all of Picardy will find themselves there: the ch’ti accent was recorded by a professional actor. To stick as well as possible to the authenticity of our very northern accents, which can be heard in any popular football stadium up there or at the bend of a local business, the sentences recorded by Waze have been validated by part of the community.

So there is, it seems, no drama to come as with the accent of some actors of Welcome to the Ch’tis. Two other voices have been added to the application, namely Toulouse and Marseille accents.
