“We don’t know what happened”

This Monday, October 9, the first two episodes of Cannes Police Criminelle were broadcast on TF1. As a result, some viewers complained about the dubbing or the fact that the original version is not yet available. Lucie Lucas then rushed to react on her Instagram account.

The new TF1 series Cannes Criminal Police made its grand premiere this Monday, October 9. Viewers enjoyed watching Lucy Lucas, well known for her role in the series Clemwho will make his return, and Tamara Marthe aka Shy’m, together. The two actresses form the on-screen duo of a lieutenant and a policewoman in the city of Cannes. They also came to represent the series during the last Canneséries festival, in April 2023, where Lucie Lucas posed with her daughter Lilou on the pink carpet.

Many viewers were waiting for the first two episodes to be broadcast. Unfortunately, one detail bothered more than one: that of dubbing. Indeed, the series was co-produced by the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden and France, and all the actors filmed in English. Which meant that Lucie Lucas and Shy’m had to dub their own voices, in French.

Lucie Lucas “Sorry for those who…”

Following the bad dubbingcomments from viewers poured in on social networks: “It’s really dubbed in any way”, “It’s horrible to watch”, “It’s impossible for me to continue, it’s torture”, “The dubbing and the lip sync are still poor quality. Impossible to watch without it being annoying”, or “The result is catastrophic”, we could read. What’s more, the original version of the film, in English, was not available.

In view of this feedback, Lucie Lucas spoke in an Instagram story to apologize: “Thank you all for your feedback on Cannes Police Criminelle. Sorry for those who tried to watch the series in original version live last night without success… We don’t know what happened but we’re doing everything we can to make sure it’s available next Monday!” she wrote, before specifying: “In the meantime, you can see or rewatch the episodes in original version on MyTF1.”
