On October 14, the body of the 12-year-old girl was found in front of the building where she lived. A drama that had shocked France. During the white march organized this Wednesday in his memory, the relatives of the victim and the inhabitants of the district wanted to be present.
“It’s been some time since the tragedy happened, but it always does a little something when you think about it,” testifies a man present in the procession. “We haven’t forgotten little Lola who was in her mother’s womb. I lived in the residence for 21 years. It was important to come here, to collect oneself and to support the parents”, explains a resident. neighborhood.
“Rebuilding together will be difficult”
The procession made a first stop at the college of Lola, the time of a meditation in front of a portrait painted on a canvas of the murdered girl. Then, the hundreds of people present stopped at the town hall of the 19th arrondissement of Paris, where the mother spoke. “Rebuilding together will be difficult because a fifth will be missing, whose indelible mark will always be present in our hearts and minds on this long journey. Testimonies of affection are a precious help to us in relieving our pain”, declared the mother of the victim, moved by the moment.
Children then brought paper butterflies to parents, a symbol of hope, before a final song: “a farewell to Lola”. The suspect in the murder, a 24-year-old Algerian, was indicted for murder accompanied by torture or acts of barbarism and rape of a minor. She is in pre-trial detention awaiting trial.
