USA: drop in weekly unemployment claims


(CercleFinance.com) – The Department of Labor announces having recorded 207,000 new registrations for unemployment benefits in the United States during the week of April 15, a figure down by 5,000 compared to the previous week.

The four-week moving average – more representative of the underlying trend – stood at 213,250, a drop of 1250 compared to the previous week.

Finally, the number of people regularly receiving compensation fell by 15,000 to stand at 1,781,000 during the week of April 8, the most recent period available for this statistic.
