It comes in the form of a DualSense controller (adaptive triggers and haptic feedback included) with an 8-inch LCD screen in the middle.

This will therefore allow PS5 games to be streamed over Wi-Fi in 1080p at 60 frames per second. It will also be able to cast videos and play other forms of media, provided these are stored on Sony’s next-gen console. Without this and without Wi-Fi, it will therefore be at most a nice high-tech paperweight.

The PlayStation Portal is expected later in the year, at a price between two chairs. In Europe, it will be necessary to count on a price of 219.99 euros. Knowing that the G Cloud, the portable console centered on cloud gaming from Logitech, is marketed at 359.99 euros. Is paying more or less the price of a DualSense Edge to play Wi-Fi on the PS5 worth it? This will be up to everyone to determine.

Sony explores new pulses

In addition, the device will not be compatible with the streaming service dedicated to the PS5 included in the Premium formula of the PlayStation Plus subscription. Only games installed on the console will be able to be launched on the PlayStation Portal, provided they have a connection of at least 5 Mbps, with a recommendation of rather 15 Mbps by Sony. That’s a lot of conditions for the portal to work as it should, in short.

In addition to this new accessory, Sony also presented two new products by the names of Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite, respectively wireless headphones and wireless gaming headphones. These use proprietary PlayStation Link audio technology, offering low latency and being specifically designed to work with PlayStation Portal and PlayStation 5. same price as the PlayStation Portal, or 219.99 euros (all the same!), on a date not yet disclosed by Sony.
