we know what OnePlus’ next mid-range looks like

OnePlus is preparing to return to the mid-range with its Nord CE 3. This new affordable smartphone no longer holds so many secrets for us, its design and its main specifications having been unveiled by the association of the leaker OnLeaks and the specialized site 91Mobiles.

What to expect from the OnePlus Nord CE 3? A mid-range smartphone in slight regression compared to its predecessor. This is what we deduce in any case from the unveiled technical sheet which reaches us this week.

If this leaked information is confirmed, the device would abandon the 6.43-inch Full HD + and 90 Hz AMOLED screen installed on the Nord CE 2. Instead, a slightly larger and faster 6.7 panel inches, rising to 120 Hz… but limited to IPS LCD technology, which is less flattering for the retinas.

A balanced smartphone for less than 300 euros?

Under this screen, however, the device would bet on a Snapdragon 695, instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC of its big brother. A little faster on paper, this mid-range chip from Qualcomm should offer good responsiveness to the device.

It would be coupled in this case to a maximum of 12 GB of RAM, while the maximum storage capacity of this OnePlus Nord CE 3 would be 256 GB. A balanced technical sheet overall, therefore.

On the photo side, on the other hand, we could lack a little versatility. The device would be based on a main sensor of 108 Mpx, to which would be added a macro sensor of only 2 Mpx and a depth sensor of 2 Mpx as well.

On the front, a 16 Mpx selfie sensor is finally planned. The set would be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, compatible with 67 W fast charging. On the software side, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 would benefit for the rest of Android 13 and OnePlus’ Oxygen OS 13 software interface.

Expected at the beginning of next year, probably below 300 euros, this new accessible smartphone would finally be provided with a design that has been thoroughly reviewed. OnePlus would return to a more rectilinear chassis, adorned on its back with two circular slots dedicated to photo sensors. As GSMArena points out, this look is somewhat reminiscent of what the OnePlus X offered in 2015.
