Some of the establishment’s practitioners are boycotting the experts from the High Authority for Health in charge of CHU certification this week. A procedure in their eyes disconnected from the daily reality of caregivers.

An unprecedented boycott, claiming to be an alarm siren. Present all this week at the University Hospital of Limoges (New-Aquitaine), the experts of the High Authority for Health (HAS) will have to carry out their mission of “certification” of the establishment without being able to obtain the opinion of a significant part of the medical team. For good reason: following a vote organized on Friday, the doctors of the hospital, by 102 votes for, 17 against and 9 abstentions, decided to shun an exercise which falls under the “masquerade”.

Compulsory and recurring every four years, the certification procedure aims to assess “the level of quality and safety of care in health establishments, public and private”. Under the aegis of the HAS, a group of experts visits the departments, completes evaluation grids and conducts interviews with caregivers and “tracer patients” to assess the conditions of care.
