The City of Vienna has set itself the goal of preserving affordable housing while at the same time making the city climate-friendly and fit for the future. Therefore, in the coming years and decades, old buildings are to be renovated and operationally upgraded to modern, environmentally friendly standards. Greening, insulation and switching to renewable forms of energy are just a few examples of what is possible and supported.
In the course of Wir SAN Wien, entire districts in Vienna are also being upgraded. With the WieNeu+ program, districts are made even more livable through renovations, neighborhood initiatives and new energy solutions, and the residents are directly involved in the design of their living environment – so that the quality of life in the city is even better for all Viennese.
