We stole a few hours of gameplay on Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

Developed between Paris and Milan, it is not a fashion show fashion weekbut the next one Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. The adventure this time takes place in space with the appearance of the Sparks, the merger between the Rabbits and the famous Lumas. Scattered on various planets, to be explored like small open areas, these small flying creatures with long ears come to replenish the arsenal of our team.

Each character can indeed combine the powers of two Sparks to create synergies and better defend themselves against different types of enemy attacks. Always turn-based, the fights have now abandoned the grid on the ground to free up the movements of our characters. An expanded system, putting even more emphasis on the tactical aspect. The game loop seems less on rails than in the first Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, without putting aside its accessible aspect for the general public. Several levels of difficulty should balance the experience, whose humor inherited from the Rabbits remains just as absurd (for our greatest pleasure). All answers at time of release Sparks of Hopeon October 20 on Switch.
