“We want to work” – Corona: Tyrolean innkeepers insist on predictable politics

One day after the Bundes-Gastro – the “Krone” reported in detail – Tyrolean gastronomy representatives also climbed the barricades on Thursday. WK spokesman Alois Rainer and his colleagues were more moderate than the federal representatives – they want to unlock on December 12th and even accept fines for it and also threaten to take to the streets.

“We hope that politicians will finally keep their word and open all branches on December 13th. All! We finally need politicians again whom we can rely on. We haven’t heard anything but beautiful words for 20 months. If they don’t unlock us on December 13th, the last trust in these politicians will be lost, ”warns Alois Rainer, Post-Landlord from Strass. During testing, there is great chaos in Tyrol. The opening should take place under 2G: Vaccinated or recover. Rainer doesn’t think much of 2G + (plus test): “It doesn’t work now, the country can’t keep up with testing!” the employees. “They run away from us in droves because they want to work and not be welfare recipients and petitioners,” explains Michael Grander from “Hotel Fischer” in St. Johann. Thomas Hackl from “Goldener Adler” in Innsbruck argues similarly: “We want to work . This constant locking and unlocking must come to an end. We don’t want to hang on to the state any longer. Therefore: Everything has to be unlocked on December 13th! ”Anna Kurz from the“ Fire and Ice ”in Ischgl also addressed the employee problem:“ We have now been closed for 20 months. You have to let that melt in your mouth. We no longer know what to believe in the politicians. Not only the guests migrate to South Tyrol and Switzerland, our employees too. The situation is dramatic! ”“ Switzerland showed how it works ”Speaking of Switzerland:“ It showed us how it worked last winter. There was a winter season there. And the Corona numbers and hospital occupancy were no worse than ours, “says Thomas Geiger, Managing Director of the Tourism Division of WK Tirol.” We won’t survive another winter like this “The Tyrolean landlords are now relying primarily on LH Günther Platter: “We’re not threatening, but I assume that, as the country’s tourism advisor, he is aware of the scope of an even longer lockdown. We – and the whole country – will not survive another winter like last year, ”Rainer concludes.
