Weather forecast: 9,000 households without electricity in Brittany


9,000 homes were deprived of electricity on the evening of January 8 in Brittany, due to strong gusts of wind.

In detail: 5,000 homes were affected in Morbihan at 7 p.m., 2,000 in Ille-et-Vilaine, 1,500 in Côtes-d’Armor and 500 in Finistère according to Enedis, reports France Bleu.

These incidents are mainly due to the violent gusts of wind sweeping across Brittany. The strongest gust was recorded in Brignogan (Finistère), at 148km / h. Gusts to 134km / h were recorded in Groix (Morbihan) and 129km / h in Saint-Ségal (Finistère).

The four Breton departments are placed on yellow vigilance with violent winds and thunderstorms by Météo France until 4 p.m. on January 9.

The emergency services have already intervened 102 times in Finistère and 48 times in Ille-et-Vilaine, indicates Franceinfo. They notably rescued four people seriously injured in a road accident near Morlaix (Finistère), including a six-year-old child.
