A weather app or the local weather news can only give a rough overview of the weather in the immediate vicinity. If you want it to be very precise and want to collect other data in addition to the temperature in front of the house or apartment, you can use a weather station. However, there are some differences in terms of price and functionality. There are basically three functions that a weather station should have as a minimum:
- temperature
- humidity
- air pressure
If the devices meet more professional requirements, modules for recording wind strength and precipitation are added. If you want to monitor and save the data from the weather station over a longer period of time, you can also use a version with WiFi and app connection. These variants also have the advantage that you can call up the weather data anytime and anywhere. However, weather stations with network access are usually a bit more expensive.
