You can set up a free e-mail account at Web.de, for example. To do this, you have to register with the provider. We show you how to do it.
If you are looking for a simple and clear e-mail service, Web.de is a good and, above all, free alternative. However, before you can write and send e-mails, you must first register with the provider and open an account. We explain the process clearly with pictures.
Web.de: Registration in just a few steps
- 1
First of all you control the home page of Web.de. Here you will find a gray banner in the middle with the designation “E-Mail”. There you click on “Register for free” under the input field for the e-mail address.
- 2
Now you will be forwarded to a selection of tariffs. Theoretically, you can also unlock a paid premium subscription that gives you a little more storage space. But we’re going to focus on setting up a free account here. To create one, click on “Register now” in the “FreeMail” banner.
- 3
Now you will be forwarded to an input mask where you have to enter your desired e-mail address, your password and some personal data. You must also provide a valid mobile phone number. When you’re done, click the yellow “I agree. Create an email account now” button below.
- 4
Web.de may now offer you a one-month free trial of the premium subscription. Here, however, you should note the notice period. If you are not interested in the offer, just click on the yellow “To the mailbox” button to be forwarded to your new account.
- 5
Here you will be greeted with a small overlay that will explain the first steps with the mailer. If you don’t want that, select “Get started straight away”
- 6
Now, however, you are only on the start page of your Web.de account. To get to your e-mail inbox, click on the letter symbol with the corresponding name in the bar at the top.
From now on you can register with your data at Web.de whenever you want. If you often travel with your iPhone or iPad, you can link your Web.de account to your Apple device.
