Heise Business Services

As an IT editor at Computerwoche, Martin Seiler dealt with topics such as networks, telecommunications and security for many years. In 2006 he switched to the events department of IDG, for which he developed, organized and moderated a wide variety of specialist events such as seminars, conferences, road shows and webcasts. Martin Seiler has been working for Heise Business Services since 2010.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, events of all kinds have mostly taken place as online or hybrid events. But the selection of a suitable event platform is still difficult for many companies. The offer is confusing. Multiple changes or the use of different platforms in a company are common. The result is unauthorized action by the specialist departments, user-unfriendly or insecure solutions, a lack of individualization, violations of the GDPR and more.

More and more companies are therefore relying on their own well-secured and flexibly adaptable event platform. This allows them to professionally design their entire internal and external communication. Town hall meetings, training courses and sales events then take place on the individually tailored in-house event platform. This is becoming an indispensable standard system for handling business processes, as well as the company’s ERP or CRM system. Functionalities, links, security and design elements are configured individually for the respective company on the basis of an existing enterprise solution, guaranteeing a consistently attractive technical quality of the events and embedding in the company’s technical infrastructure.

The more different event formats and company departments (marketing, sales, investor relations, human resources) with their specific requirements benefit from the platform, the better. Such an event platform can also function as a high-quality streaming portal, online academy and media library at the same time.

In the webcast on February 9 at 11 a.m., Rosie Schuster and Henrik Däschner from Techcast will use concrete examples to explain what a professional online event platform has to do and why an in-house enterprise solution is worthwhile. They also answer live questions from the participants. The moderator of the program is Martin Seiler from Heise Business Services.
