Jake Bongiovi and Millie Bobby Brown are getting married. The two are still very young, but apparently sure that they want to stay together forever. Is singer Jon Bon Jovi’s son trying to bring some stability into his life? Or was he simply inspired by his parents, who have been a couple for over 40 years?

Jake Bongiovi, 20, and Millie Bobby Brown, 19, are certainly among the younger couples who have sworn eternal fidelity. But they are sure. Commonality. And wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. “I’ve spent three summers with you now. I want them all,” to quote the actress. She chooses the same to make her engagement public on Instagram.

The 20-year-old uses a simple but equally meaningful “forever”. Forever. Just like his parents.

But as romantic and perfect as the marriage of Jon Bon Jovi, 61, and his wife Dorothea Hurley seems, the family has gone through so dark times.

Jake Bongiovi: Drug overdoses and mental health issues

“Daily Mail” has researched the history of the family and especially the years from 2012 shook the family to the core. First, daughter Stephanie had to be treated for an overdose in 2012. The then 19-year-old had taken opioids. “It was horrible, a horrible moment. That was my worst moment as a father,” Jon Bon Jovi recalled in a 2013 interview with “Mirror”. He explains: “She didn’t stick needles in her arms, but there’s a lot of synthetic stuff in the world and a lot of temptations and avenues and constraints that we, who are of a different generation, didn’t know about until now.. .” The musician sums it up: “It was a terrible tragic life lesson, but I thank God every day because she lives. It happened and it’s over. I personally know people whose sons and daughters have it much, much worse hit. That could have been Stephanie.”

Whether it was Stephanie’s overdose or Richie Sambora’s sudden exit from “Bon Jovi” – the hitmaker looks back on 2013 to 2016 as “the worst years of his life”. In an interview with Mirror in 2016, he said: “It’s been a very, very difficult time that I haven’t fully recovered from, but my wife has been phenomenal. I’m not sure how I coped without her were.” At times he even considered taking his own life, according to Bon Jovi. With the help of a psychologist, he overcame his crisis at the time, according to the rock star.

Always by his side: his wife Deborah, with whom he is still enthusiastic today. “We grew up together and grew up together. And we really like each other. We still want to hang out together so much,” Bon Jovi enthuses in a 2020 interview with “People”. He recalls, “I was instantly drawn to her since I saw her 40 years ago and that has never changed.”

It remains to wish Jake Bongiovi and Millie Bobby Brown that their love story is just as beautiful, long-term and crisis-proof as that of Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Deborah.
