Weeds are unavoidable in the garden – and sometimes not bad at all. However, as soon as the weeds start to take away the living space and nutrients from other plants that you want to cultivate and care for with a lot of effort, you should intervene. Weed pullers are particularly gentle but very effective, because in contrast to simply ripping out or hacking, you can use the weed puller to penetrate very deeply into the ground and remove the weeds together with the roots.
There are basically two types of weed cutters: those with style that are used while standing, and simple hand cutters that require you to bend down. Basically, weed pullers with style are easier on the back, with the small, handy devices you can work more precisely and faster.
There are also differences in the design. The Fiskars weeder presented in the table, for example, works with different blades that surround the weeds. By pushing the handle, the weeds are lifted out of the ground almost by themselves – this is extremely practical and convenient. The disadvantage, however, is that it is difficult or impossible to remove particularly deep-rooted and stubborn weeds with the approximately 10 centimeter long blades.
