Weird and disturbing RPG, LISA is finally coming to consoles

Console players will therefore be able to take the measure of the semblance of worship that surrounds Lisa. If it has never reached the level of popularity of an Undertale, released a year later, this RPG produced with three pieces of string by Austin Jorgensen announces its return in a definitive edition which will be released on July 18 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, Steam and Epic Games Store. It will cost 25 euros to get LISA: Definitive Edition which includes the base game LISA: The Painful and its extension LISA: The Joyfulbut the two products will also be offered separately at 20 euros for one and 10 euros for the other.

Technically, this new edition of Lisa includes HD graphics and a rate of 120 frames per second in the case of the PC and the next generation consoles. Those who have already played the game will be especially attracted by all that is new content, namely in bulk: new fireside chats to lament even more the fate of companions lost along the way, new bosses and enemies , new quests including fights and dialogues, new stories with their different endings, an easy mode, updated combat systems, a revisited interface or even a player to listen to your favorite songs, including around twenty new compositions. The functionalities of the controllers will also be well taken into account, in particular for the DualSense, the DualShock 4 and the Joy-Con. Finally, while the original game remained in English, this definitive edition has been localized into 12 new languages, and we dare to believe that French is one of them.

Where are the women ?

The list of novelties being established, let’s still take the time to come back to what this strange RPG has to say. Letting shine through a certain (dark) humor and more or less grotesque characters, Lisa hides above all an ability to deal with heavy and unusual subjects without taking gloves. The usage warning on the Steam page that states ” depictions of adult language, violence, gore, sexual assault/non-consensual sex, drugs, alcohol abuse, and suicide is clearly not here to look pretty. Lisa is described as creepy, disturbing, perverse and depressing.

It must be said that the story takes place in a post-apo world where all women have suddenly disappeared from the surface of the planet following a phenomenon that is unexplained to say the least. Entrusted to the good care of a society of bearded men without the slightest female presence, the world is obviously no longer turning round. We can then imagine the feeling that animates Brad, a lost former martial arts teacher, when he finds a baby in the middle of nowhere and that it turns out to be a girl. Brad quickly becomes protective of this little creature called Buddy, until the day his young protege is taken from him. Thus begins a journey made of imposed choices and sacrifices, in a degenerated world made even more dangerous by the abuse of drugs and mutants, to find this little girl and incidentally the last hope of perpetuating humanity, if indeed that ‘she deserves it.
