Competition and sluggish sales in the graphics card market seem to be pushing manufacturers to make some cuts.
Just yesterday, we tested NVIDIA’s new graphics card, the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, which was released this afternoon.
Unless otherwise ordered, next week, it will be the turn of the next one in the range, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER which could well compete with the RX 7900 XT. Until now rather discreet, AMD has just reacted.
AMD worried about SUPER news?
Indeed, for the release of the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, AMD did not see fit to review the price of its direct competitor, the Radeon RX 7800 XT. More than undermined by the new NVIDIA card, it at least has a price that is already more or less 100 euros cheaper.
This was not the case for the Radeon RX 7900 XT. Of course, we don’t yet know how this card stacks up against NVIDIA’s new release, but AMD probably knows. Also, it was decided to significantly lower the price of this 7900 XT. AMD explains it in these terms, guaranteed without any bias.

100 euros reduction on the recommended price
Well-established communication therefore intervenes to take the lead as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will be released on January 24. Incidentally, please note that no Founders Edition model – designed by NVIDIA – will be offered. Only partners are concerned.
On the brand’s official website, the Radeon RX 7900 XT known as MbA (Made by AMD or designed by AMD) has already gone from 992 euros to 937 euros, but this is not enough and the brand emphasizes that at certain resellers, you can find RX 7900 “ a drop of more than 100 euros compared to the recommended price “.
According to AMD, the drop also concerns the Radeon RX 7900 GRE, a model that the brand reserves for certain integrators. Finally, remember that the recommended retail price for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is 889 euros. The whole question will therefore be to see in what quantities the models at this price will be available. The bets are open.
