Without really understanding why, Western Digital is very mysterious around the real availability of this SSD.

Officially presented last December – almost eight months ago – the WD_Black SN850X had no release date at the time. Since then, there has been, so to speak, radio silence on the side of Western Digital, which had no information to communicate ” following our reminders.

A high-performance model that is long overdue

Two days ago, however, and without any announcement from Western Digital, the WD_Black SN850X appeared on the manufacturer’s web store. All the versions initially mentioned are accessible, from the 1 TB model with heatsink to the 4 TB version without heatsink.

This availability is logically accompanied by price indications and things go from 159.99 dollars for the least expensive model (1 TB without heatsink) up to 699.99 dollars for the most expensive (4 TB without heatsink). Please note that prices are only in US dollars.

The reason is as simple as it casts doubt: only the Western Digital store in the United States is currently concerned. Nothing on the side of France therefore, but nothing either in Canada, the United Kingdom or Germany. An exit in several stages therefore without explanation on the part of Western Digital.
