Wednesday March 9, 2022, Romane Serda was invited to the show Chez Jordan, for Télé-Loisirs. During this interview, the singer agreed to talk about her meeting with Renaud in the late 1990s.
That was over twenty years ago! In 1999, it was while he was drinking a pastis in his favorite bar, La Closerie des Lilas, that Renaud laid eyes on Romane Serda. Despite their separation, the singer has agreed to return to their meeting. Guest on the show At Jordan’sfor Tele-Leisureshe said:I had an appointment with a director of a record company. He arranges to meet me at the Closerie des Lilas. I come in and there, I see two very clear eyes. The guy I’m with says hello and I stand back, waiting for them to say hello. They discuss so I go to sit in a table at the back and there, I am told that Renaud would like to write me 12 songs. And I don’t understand why they tell me that…” In effect, the pretty blonde had not understood why the singer had not come to see her directly.
Facing Jordan de Luxe, Romane Serda continued: “When I finish my appointment, I leave La Closerie and Renaud tells me ‘I’ll call you’. In fact, he does not call me and there, I say to myself ‘what a mouth what’. Two days later, he writes me an inflamed email and we start from this principle: write emails and address each other.To conclude this interview, Renaud’s ex-girlfriend explained that she had struggled not to fall in love given that the singer didn’t seem interested because she was narrating.
Romane Serda: “He knows that I will always be there for him”
In an interview given to Paris Match, the singer had already made tender secrets about Renaud. “I could see he was not well. But under his grumpy looks, I discovered a funny man, so endearing.“Having been a great support to help the singer get out of his alcohol addiction, Romane Serda had revealed:”It’s a fabulous time. We go on a whim to Italy, we live freely. I understand that he is fighting his demons. He tries, for example, not to drink for six days. But very quickly, he counts the hours until the seventh day.“While the duo divorced on September 23, 2011, they have remained very close.”He is the father of my son, he is my family. He knows that I will always be there for him, even if it took time to accept the idea that I had another man in my life.“, she revealed.
